Poured into a Gulden Draak tulip. Pours a lightly hazy, medium golden amber with a three finger white head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of Belgian yeast, grainy and candi malt, light stone fruit and lemon. Flavor is candi and bready malt, fruity Belgian yeast, mixed light stone fruit, orange, coriander and clove, hints of citrus. Spicy coriander and clove finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. Stopped by the brewery especially to try their stout and wee heavy and at the last minute decided to try this from their surprisingly wide variety of canned beers. This can felt somewhat soft so I suspected undercarbonation, but was pleased with an attractive, active pours and fine carbonation on the tongue. Although they call this a golden Belgian strong, I'm listing this here as a tripel in the absence of that style and it is a quite to-style tripel ale. The hefty ABV is well covered and the malt, yeast and spicing are authentic. Full flavored with a great finish. I nice domestic take on the tripel (or golden strong) style. Enjoyable.
