the lavender is a little over the top here, and i think it takes over the freshness and tartness the lemon is trying to add a little bit, so the balance isnt quite there on this one. it does feel a little more substantial as a base beer than their raspberry basil saison did, more body anyway, still a rather one dimensional belgian estery yeast to it though, and not overly exciting on its own. like perfume with the lavender, springy but the dosing is off by close to an order of magnitude, at least for my tastes, sometimes less is more with these things, and this is an example of it running away from the base beer just a bit. the lemon does add a little acid which makes this refreshing and drier rather than grainy or sweet, summery for sure, floral and vibrant and alive, better carbonated than all of the other beers i had in here too. i still think its the base beer that needs work, even with the intense lavender, we need more yeast character to this, something funky or old worldy, more mellow and less warm and belgian. not bad overall though, interesting and appealing enough to easily drink a whole one...
