Looks like good ol' root beer.
Smell was faint, but not bad.
Taste was watery chocolate/coffee-ish and weak.
Feel was slightly creamy and weak.
Overall, after the first two cans, this became tedious to drink and enjoyment was diminished.

Pours a beautiful brown color with a minimal light tan head. The nose features a nice caramel and toffee combo pack of aromas.

The taste features the same notes as the nose, but they’re more pronounced and delicious. Accompanied by a medium, crisp mouthfeel, this is a very nice crusher of a bock.

Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance - The beer is served a brown color with a small tan colored head. The head fades fast to leave a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell - The aroma is big of a chocolate smell mixed with lots of caramel and a moderate roasted malt. There are some light but smells and a bit of smoke, making a nice sweet and roasty smell overall.
Taste - The taste begins with a nice sweet and roasty taste with lots of chocolate and caramel and a nice toasted malt base. As the taste moves forward, a bit nuttiness and the carmel becomes more toffee like. At the end some light herb joins in, and with the chocolate, roast, and sweet, one is left with a nice sweet bock taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouth feel - The body of the brew is medium in thickness and creaminess with a moderate carbonation. For the style the feel is great and makes a nice easy drinker.
Overall- A nice sweet but easy drinking bock! Good to try!

On tap. Copper color with beige head. Smells of toasted malt. Medium body. Caramel malt flavor with some hop bitterness. True to style, it's a little heavier in body than some other American examples.

Had this one at the grand opening of a new Spaghetti Warehouse. Feels like a Shiner with a bit more malt. Overall its ok not sure what purpose it serves. A bit lighter and it could be a refreshing go-to while watching a baseball game. A bit heavier and with more ABV it could be a solid nightcap. Wouldn't necessarily recommend you seek this one out.

I'm glad to see BeerAdvocate rate this beer as "good", but it deserves to be classified higher in my opinion. This is a very solid bock beer. I see BA did it's due diligence and ranked it #58 in terms of German Bock's. It probably should be ranked higher IMO. In Texas it's all about Shiner Bock, and I love my Shiner, but I'd say Billy Jenkins is a notch or so above Shiner. Getting a cold pint of "Billy" and taking that first sip is like akin to taking a sip of a Guinness. It almost has that smooth malty-like taste that's just delicious and makes you come back for more. Had a pint of it at New York Pizza in Irving, TX, and they poured it into an ice mug. This beer is gradually becoming my go-to.

Draft at Whistle Britches Chicken, Dallas
Red/Copper Color with modest 3/8" tan head which disappeared quickly. Light aroma.
Great taste, creamy and full bodied, good feel and with very light aftertaste. Lightness of a Shiner but an interesting alternative with more flavor..
Nice balance of malt and hops, mild sweetness/fruitiness
Wonderful brew for a hot summer afternoon, if you prefer a beer with more taste than a pale lager. Great with food.

Pours a very dark copper and leaves decent off white head. There is a light toasted malt aroma. Carbination is medium and helps balance out the creamy body. There are flavors of sour, bitter hops and sweet, toasted malt. A hint of liquorice comes through in the end. More flavorful than Shiner, but not heavy at all.
