Poured into a mug, the appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a moderate pace. Some stringy lace. The aroma had a nice blend of roasted malts, dried baker’s chocolate, cocoa powder, damp coffee beans. Then some sweet oats. The flavor plays with the previously mentioned aromas nicely to the blend and boots it all together on into the aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. ABV felt as projected by the brewer. Overall, nice oatmeal stout as that’s what I believe the brewer was going for.
