This was poured into a nonic pint glass. The appearance was a fairly dark brown close to black in color and then a nice looking cap of a white foamy head sits atop and settles at a nice pace. Some messy lace. The aroma started off with the roast and sweetness of the porter qualities up front and then the pumpkin falls in line to gently just touch some ginger and allspice ever so slightly. The flavor yields to the porter qualities initially and ends up bringing in the pumpkin sweetness and it’s spices only to balance. Porter qualities lead the aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. ABV felt as projected by the brewer and the pumpkin and it’s spices don’t distract from the smoothness that ends up sliding along my tongue. Overall, nicely done Autumn porter.
