Pours a dark but clear reddish-brown colour, with a fizzy and filmy head of beige bubbles. Minimal retention to the head, and although it stays pretty static, the bubbles are very noticeable. Decent amount of carbonation - probably more than necessary for the style, although it has a pleasantly heavy body, which is great.
Nose is a bit organic, giving a hint of wet grain, and a lightly sweet, lightly fruity wheat character. Slightly darker notes in there, perhaps a bit of caramel or char, but the reedy wheat notes win out.
As expected, the carbonation is very boisterous on the palate, and is rather excessive. Wheat notes disappear almost entirely here, leaving quite an acrid roasted character and a thin body with minimal sweetness. Finish is dry and slightly phenolic, with almost an overwrought acetone note.
Feel is thin throughout, but very overcarbonated, leaving it gassy and bloating. This harms the drinkability too - with the aggressive carbonation and the acridity on the back palate, it doesn't make it a particularly easy drinking beer.
Not one of Jamieson's best. It left me feeling quite underwhelmed, and not very excited.

Has been an ok beer in the past if well short of spectacular. Brown in colour with a faint ruby hue. Nose is not really inspiring; faint roast and minerals. Very amber ale-like to taste; milky chocolate (mild) and maybe the faintest hint of roast. Underpinned with a slightly cloying sweet note which is not attractive. I’ve had better bottles.

Pours a devilishly murky red with slightly dark-beige head, small bubbles forming a thin crown and being revived by steady bead around the edges. Lace is thin, not very sticky. Looks quite good, for the style.
Smells quite sour but with a very nice sticky sweetness to it. A dark chocolate malt character with rich dried cranberry and raising providing both sweet and tart notes. Dark, but it's largely that dark fruit aroma, no burnt characters. Pretty nice.
Taste has the roastiness the nose didn't. Fairly strong toasty malt with a slight underlying cocoa that lasts from start to finish. Wheat tartness provides tartness on the mid and, combined with darkness, gives off raising and date flavours, a nice sticky dried fruit sweetness permeating the late-mid. A bit of a darker bitterness on the back and it all ends very dry in a wheat beer kind of way. Nice dark beer though, nicely tart with the right amount of sweetness to make it at least interesting, if not totally delicious.
Bit of a fizzer really, keeps a bit of thickness on the mid and then quite dry on the back. Stylistically fine but I'm not big on it.
Pleasant beer, nice tart notes offset the roastiness, and vice-versa.

Appearance - 4.0
An enthusiastic pour yields three fingers of pillowy beige head over a hazy brown body. Very good head retention, little lace.
Smell - 3.0
Dry, dusty yeast, quite perfumy and a little fruity.
Taste - 3.5
Very toasty, slightly roasty, dry and savoury with a tart wheat malt and yeast. Tastes of carob, cocoa, apple and a little spice. Very dry finish.
Mouthfeel - 4.0
Fine carbonation, rather mouth filling.
Drinkability - 3.5
There's a lot going on here, not a session beer, but I'd buy it again.
OVERALL - 3.55
An interesting beer with lots of character. As it warms the wheat beer characteristics become more noticeable, increasing complexity.

Light banana aroma with touches of wheat. Very light clove. Not much of any dark malt aroma. Slightly tart.
Medium brown colour with tinges of red. Decent clarity. A nice, creamy light tan head with okay retention.
A lightly fruity, dry wheat beer with a hint of chocolate flavour. It's okay but the dryness is actually a bit too much.
Light, dry and effervescent. Unfortunately the dryness is a bit much and is puckering.
An average beer which unfortunately misses the mark for me.

It's afair bit darker than expected. Takes a while to get used to this beer. It isn't terrible at all but sometimes you're just not sure what the brewery was aiming for. It has some solid dark wheat traits particularly on the nose, but it's a little syrupy on the palate. I'd drink it again but wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Pours dark brown with a large but quickly diminishing head.
Aroma is comprised of wheat and hints of toasty malt. Quite faint.
Flavours show more roasted malt, with toasty and almost burnt note, along with the afore-mentioned doughy wheat.
Carbonation is over the top for this kind of beer, very prickly, detracting from the flavour.
Not sure what happened here; this isn't as refreshing as a hefe, but not as tasty as a dunkel-weiss. Fails on both counts.

This beer pours a jet burnt copper colour that has a two finger creamy head that hangs around for a little while and leaves lacing down the glass that sticks to it and smells distinctly of nutmeg, cloves and spices and almost looks like and smells like a nut brown ale or a dunkel weizen,on taste you get nutty, bready, wheat flavours quite a easy drinking beer but not my favourite beer but could definately drink more than one of these.

A - Dark brown with ruby highlights when held up to light. Very little head and what there is falls away immediately.
S - A definate clove/nutmeg spiciness as well as some toffee notes.
T - A fairly strong roasty presense along with the spice & toffee.
M - Medium bodied and low carbonation.
D - Nice enough but it just doesn't do it for me.

Nice one!
I had this at the brewpub in Jamieson. Well, actually I sampled my wife's beer. It poured a ruby colour with a nicely-retaining head. The taste was dry and if I had to guess I would say that it's a nut brown ale. Guess not, though. The wheaty mouthfeel is nice but something about it hindered the drinkability to my tastebuds. My wife really liked it, though. Give it a shot if you see it.

Tried this at the Jamieson Brew Pub.
It poured a dark maroon brown that was essentiallytransparent The head was modest and off white/cream in colour.
The smell was a slightly nutty malt with some yeast in there .
the flavour was a little of a let down as it was dominated by the wheat character ( which is always a little tart for me). However as the beer sat in the glass the roasted malt characte became more evident.
Overall a passable and enjotable beer

I am sampling this beer in a mug at room temp. The beer pours a clear mahogany with a beige fluffy head of 2 cm foaming up with easy pour.
Aroma is mostly sweet with toffee and chocolate mixing with some fruity berry scents (cherry and rasp) and a bit of cocoa powder chalkiness too.
The head remains a surface layer throughout the sampling.
First sip reveals a thinner body than expected with fine gentle carbonation that caresses my palate on the swallow.
Flavor is also generally sweet with some chocolate and again some fruity berry notes. There is also a touch of the wheat twang and some grainy qualities as well.
The beer finishes with a bit of dark chocolate bitterness.
A pretty decent beer overall, but wish it was just a bit fruitier.

this is a tweaked and renamed version of their dark wheat beer. let me say straight off, this is one beer that has gone back to the drawing board and come back a much much better beer. the use of roasted crystal wheat has made all the difference.
the old version had its good points, but overall just didnt have what it took. was all over the shop, too sweet on the front palate and too raspy down back. this effort is a far more balanced attempt and its pretty close to the best wheat beer of any kind going around in these parts. deep tan color, lovely creamy head, decent carbonation. excellent smell, its got a ripper toasty vibe with sweet bubblegum and slight caramelly tones. the flavor is of the same, sweet, rich, a little chewy, with traces of chocolate creeping up every so often and some little hints of maple syrup. delightful! has a great feel in the mouth, slightly syrupy, smooth, yet crisp and finishing on the dry side, with a fine hop bitterness. very very drinkable.
not as good as the great hefes of germany, but geez its a top notch attempt by an aussie brewery. all i can say to the wheat beer lovers of australia, and anywhere else you can get this, by golly its worthy of consideration for the next drinking session.

Ok, i'd had a bit to drink by this beer, but i thought it was pretty good, chocolate and banana flavours, and a bit salty, smooth aswell, Probably my fave from this brewer, pretty smooth and lightly tart, but nothing is overwhelming, fairly solid...
