Brewed with all local ingredients, a true "harvest beer" the malt is sourced from our friends at sugar creek malting. The Comet and Mackinac hops are fresh off the bine from Landlocked Hops, and Willowbrook Honey provides wildflower honey. Sticky green DIPA is DDH for delightful aromatics of tropical fruit, citrus and pine.

16oz undated can poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass at fridge temp. This beer changes every year as a harvest ale depending on what's available. This year's version weighs in at 9% ABV and utilizes locally sourced malt, hops and honey. The beer pours bright honey amber in color with off white head. The head recedes to a splotchy ring and puffy island leaving a few spots of lacing behind. The aroma is moderate in strength featuring over ripe tropical fruit, citrus and resinous notes. The taste is semisweet caramel mixed with resinous & dank hop flavor that stays a bit too sweet. There are honey notes as well before a mildly bitter finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation and a somewhat dry finish. There's a weird tug of war between sweet malt & the dry hopping that drying nature of the honey can't quite get into balance. I get a little alcohol heat in the flavor, but none in the aroma. Overall, good. This beer resembles Hopslam's less refined kid brother.
