Served from the can in a snifter.
That ViHart video on Aleph screwed me up, too. Anyway, this stuff pours a straight onyx topped by a finger of khaki foam. The nose comprises mild cocoa powder, light roasted malts, and a hint of vanilla. The taste brings in more of the same, the tight mixture coming across slightly bland to me (though on the positive side of that judgment, if that makes any sense). The body is a lithe medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a mostly smooth feel. Overall, a nice milk stout, though nothing that stands out in any way. It's easily drinkable, and there's nothing wrong with it, it just doesn't really wow at all.

A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a quarter finger high light tan head that quickly died down, leaving some specks of bubbles down the sides of the glass, a narrow collar around the edge, and a thin patch of bubbles on the surface.
S: Moderate aromas of cocoa nibs are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell but has flavors of vanilla along with notes of coffee and hints of milk sugar.
M: It feels a bit more than medium-bodied and a bit smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This stout is a lot easier to drink compared to what I would have expected for a beer that is 10% abv.
