Poured from the 32 oz growler filled at the brewery today. Clear yellow color with plenty of foam in the Stella goblet. Clean oak aroma, like freshly sawn flooring. Crisp, dry, and spritzy on the tongue. Not very sweet, and there seems to be less malt sensation since it's quite a modest ABV. Brewer rates this at 33 IBUs, and it does have a nice bitterish bite.
It's the oak flavor that makes this interesting. It's more on the dry side and woody flavored, rather than the vanilla of oak barrels. A lighter sort of brew that's a nice alternative to the overly hoppy "session" IPAs. Overall this is a very drinkable brew that doesn't overwhelm the palate.
