Appearance is a nice color of amber but just a few coarse bubbles in the chalice. First sip brings a bold grainy taste and a surprising bitterness. Aroma of roasted grain but only slightly sweet. While hops are overwhelmingly resiny, somehow the rye flavor is really strong-- grainy with a dark, earthy intensity.
Less carbonation than optimum. The taste is more than robust, it's on the harsh side. Too much of everything, especially the bitter aftertaste. Sippable though and an interesting change of pace. From the 16 oz crowler can filled at the Brewery pub.
