Clear dark coppery amber with modest bit of foam. Tickle of carbonation and a malty mouthfeel. Aroma of fruitcake, nuts, and a little butter. This is really quite strong and sweet, but it's sort of an Über-Doppelbock. Roasted grain, some apple, and a serious amount of caramel. Then there's the leafy bitter hop tang. Moderate bitter aftertaste, not always encountered in the style, but works well here with the robust ABV and sugar. From the 32 oz growler filled at the brewery tap.
