HawkPeak Brewing Company @Grand Haven Brew House

 

We visited this brewpub to try their beers and to have dinner. The pub is located in an old 3-story building on a busy downtown corner setting. There are two dining rooms that are separated by the long bar in the center. I didn't see any evidence of the brewing equipment to help give the place a brewpub feel, but I still liked the vibe.

There are 30 taps that our server said normally include 6 house beers plus guest beers (which included 21 craft beers, two macros, two ciders, and a non-alcoholic root beer this night), but there were only 4 house beers available so we ordered a sampler flight of them plus a sampler flight of 4 guest beers. Each of the house beers was brewed to style, and exceeded average by a little bit. Consistency reigns here because we scored each of them at a 3.5 rating.

The food menu has a good variety of selections, but most were typical pub grub (although there is nothing wrong with that). We felt that this was one of those breweries where the food was better than the beer, although we enjoyed ourselves and would go back here again.
