The can lists both ACBC and Urban Brewing Company, so I suspect this one is a collabo brew.
Picked up at Banana Jam Cafe, and I think this is my first ever IPL.
Pours a lightly murky rich golden amber. Wet head of white foam that never settles beyond a dusting of snow. Gorgeous lacing.
Nose is sweet straw initially. Some earthy and floral hops. But it's sweet straw that leads things here.
Flavour is also driven by the sweet straw grains, but the hops take much more of a presence on the tongue than they did on the nose as they let the straw lead in before taking over for the back half with earthy fruity bitter hops. Finish is pithy bitter and enjoyable.
Medium slick body and a good level of carbonation... not too much nor too little.
Enjoyable as my first IPL, and I would slot it in in the upper third of ZA brews I tried both while over there and since I've returned. Probably not the best one I tried overall, but definitely on the very favourable side.
