Pint pour served on cask at the brewery. It pours a deep cola-brown color with a thick, light khaki head and thick lacing. The smell includes roasted malt, earthy, nutty, leather notes, and whiffs of coffee and tobacco. Its taste is earthy, nutty, malty goodness. There is a hint of bitter, acidic coffee and caramel malt deep in the background. It's flavorful but quite mellow. The mouth feel is thick and creamy on cask with little carbonation, and it's very drinkable at 5.1% ABV. Overall, Bay Muck, particularly served on cask at appropriate temperature, is a delightful pub-style ale. I'm glad that Ludlam Island continues to brew it.
