finally a take on a pumpkin beer I can actually drink, a close match to the inferred cookie, not a home run but certainly a nice slant on a pumpkin beer I can stomach. Give one a try for sure.

On draft at the Harvest Brew Fest in Cape May NJ.
Appearance. This has a hazy orange-brown body topped by a good white head.
This is a spicy pumpkin ale with both the spicing and the pumpkin on display. The spice mix is both well chosen and of good (moderate) strength. As the label on the canned version suggests, there some resemblance to the Irwins Spice Wafers.

On draught at the brewery. It was served in a plastic glass due to COVID-19 restrictions. The color is similar to iced tea and it has a thin, lite khaki colored head and minimal lacing. The nose features cola, pumpkin, cinnamon, clove, and coriander. The taste opens spicy with cinnamon and clove, along with pumpkin puree. As the glass warms there are also notes of brown sugar and molasses. The mouth feel is impressive: it's lite and crisp with lively carbonation, and very easy to drink at 4.25% ABV. Overall, Mashing Pumpkins is well-balance. It's not overly sweet and refreshing to drink. It's one of those beers where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
