Poured from a 16 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Dark golden pour with massive foamy white head. Great retention and lacing.
S: Grapefruit citrus and tropical fruit. Juicy.
T.F: Semi-sweet to start... grains and citrus. Strong grapefruit/rind. Pineapple and mango... tangerine and floral hops. A little boozy... modest hop bitterness. Sticky mouthfeel... medium bodied.
O: A solid hazy DIPA. A little boozy but good flavor/drinkability. Not regretting the 4pack.

Poured from 16 oz. can into a Ludlam stemless glass. It pours a murky, dirty tangerine color with a large, fluffy, eggshell-colored head and thick lacing. The smell is strong and tropical with lemon, orange, tangerine, pineapple, and floral hops. The taste is outstanding with a balance of tart, bitter lemon, melon, pineapple, resinous pine, bubblegum, and hoppy bitterness with earthy, herbal notes. It's dank and sticky. The Mosaic and Simcoe hops are used to full effect. The mouth feel is outstanding: thick and creamy with moderate carbonation. And the 9% ABV is well masked. Overall, The Big Dirty is an outstanding DIPA. It's very well balanced and thoroughly enjoyable. Ludlam Island Brewery continues to impress.
