Pint on draught at the brewery. It pours a hazy, coppery-orange color with a creamy, ecru head and thick, soapy lacing. There's not much pumpkin on the nose - mostly vanilla, lactose, and malt. While pumpkin isn't used in the mash on this ale there is a modest pumpkin pie flavor. The pie spicing is subtle and blends well with the vanilla and lactose. There is a heavy malty backbone and a hint of pepper and bitterness throughout. This ale has a pleasant, creamy mouth feel with moderate carbonation, and it has good substance for 6.5% ABV. Overall, Becky is an unassuming but effective Pumpkin Ale. While I'm told that pumpkin meat isn't used in the mash, it avoids the heavy pumpkin pie spicing.
