On draught at the brewery. 10 oz. pour served in a plastic cup due to COVID-19 restrictions. It pours a very dark walnut color - almost black - with an unusual yellow-khaki colored head and a thin film of lacing. The nose features bourbon, roasted malt, freshly-brewed coffee, caramel, and earthy char. It's taste is decidedly coffee-forward with vanilla, brown sugar, and burnt nuts. The bourbon is also front and center but it isn't distracting. In fact, it's surprisingly delicate. Unfortunately, it was served rather cold but the flavors really open up as the glass warms. The mouth feel is nicely creamy with moderate carbonation. And it's not boozy despite its 13% ABV. There is surprisingly little warming for the elevated alcohol level. Overall, I am quite impressed. This is a very well-crafted and enjoyable Imperial Coffee Stout.
