Double IPA brewed with experimental hop HBC-431. This new hop is getting a lot of attention for it's big citrus notes and more subtle earthy tones. Straight from the Yakima Valley to your glass, be sure to check this one out.

No apparent canning date but it was added to the BA database on 11/7/2020. Poured into a stemless glass. It pours an opaque, golden-tangerine color with a half finger of fluffy, milk-white head and spotty lacing. On the nose there is lemon, grapefruit, and earthy, grassy malt. The taste open with a strong dose of malt with initial sweetness followed by earthy, herbal, slightly bitter HBC-431 hops. As the glass warms there are notes of berries and perhaps a hint of peach. It has a luxurious, creamy mouth feel with moderate carbonation, and the 8.5% ABV provides good substance. Overall, while Bear Trap looks like a hazy, NE IPA, it it more earthy and bitter. It's easy to drink for its alcohol level. I enjoyed it.
