Reviewed one day after 2023 can release. Poured into a shaker glass. It pours an opaque, pastel tangerine with a half finger of fluffy, milk-white head and cream lacing. On the nose there is lemon, grapefruit, onion, and fragrant floral hops. The taste opens dry and bitter with pale malt and oats. It's exclusively Citra-hopped with notes of sticky, dank tangerine and tropical fruits. It's a basic - but effective - DIPA. The mouth feel is creamy and viscous with appropriate carbonation, and the 75% ABV is noticeable but not distracting. Overall, the DDH version of Ludlam's Water Guns and Rainbows is easy-drinking and tasty DIPA. It's worth a try - especially when fresh.
