On cask at the brewery, where it's referred to as "547 Shamrock." It's a beautiful pour: very dark walnut - almost black - with a thick, creamy, light mocha-colored head and thick, creamy lacing. The nose offers roasted malt, leather, tobacco smoke, chocolate, coffee, and just a faint whiff of mint, which surprised me a bit. Similarly, the taste is very close to the base 547 Stout. I expected more mint but it's subtle. The dominant flavors are roasted malt, bakers chocolate, burnt coffee, and earthy, nutty char. It's not served overly cold but the mint did begin to emerge as I nursed the glass and it definitely enhances the flavor. The mouth feel is thick and creamy, easy drinking at 5.6% ABV and a stout served on cask is always a pleasure. Overall, I have mixed emotions. While I'm glad the mint didn't dominate, I wish it were a little more noticeable.
