Our Imperial Coffee Stout has been long in the works. One of our most outlandish collaborations with Harry and his magical beans. This beer puts forth heavy notes of chocolate covered berries, figs and raisins. It's accompanied with sweet earthy and richness from the whole beans added directly to the conditioning tank. Harry's organic Sumatra compliments those decadent chocolate and dark fruit notes elegantly and brings a robust character to the aroma and flavor. Lightly carbonated to accentuate the full body and mouthfeel of this high gravity beer.

Poured from a 16 oz. can into a stemless glass at about 60°. It pours a very dark walnut - nearly black - with a creamy, medium-mocha head and sheen of lacing. On the nose there is roasted malt, burnt coffee, dark chocolate, smoky char, and just a whiff of dark fruit. The taste is strong and rich with strong, acidic coffee, chocolate, raisin fig, caramel, and nutty char. There is pronounced bitterness at the finish. The flavors are big and bold. The mouth feel is luxuriously thick and creamy with lite/moderate carbonation, and the 14.5% ABV is noticeable and warming. Overall, Harry's Darker Side is quite a Stout: huge in gravity with lots of flavor. It's a sipper for sure and a very good one. Ludlam has produced quite an Imperial Coffee Stout.
