On cask at the brewery. It pours very nearly black with a modest, dark mocha-colored head and minimal lacing. The smell offers roasted malt, freshly-brewed coffee, dark chocolate, dark fruit, and tobacco smoke. Wow, this is decadent! Despite its name its decidedly coffee-forward; freshly-brewed, acidic coffee. But as it settles there is increasing milk chocolate sweetness. What really makes the flavor are the notes of red berry, raisin, and fig. There is a slightly hoppy bitterness at the finish. The flavors blend beautifully. This is a delicious Stout! Served on cask it's very litely carbonated with a pleasant, creamy mouth feel. And it's hard to believe the ABV is 14.5% It drinks very easily for the gravity. Overall, this variant of Harry's Dark Side is exquisite. It's a great drinking experience. Ludlum should be proud of this gem.
