Initial Impression:
My final beer from SeaQuake—and not an IPA this time. After really enjoying the previous four, this one felt like a change of pace. I was looking forward to something more sessionable to close things out, and this fit the bill.
Appearance:
Served at 42°F in a Belcher glass. Pours golden yellow with pale straw highlights. A white, frothy, airy head forms with good retention, leaving light lacing. Bright, clean, and visually appealing—exactly what I want from a beer like this.
Aroma:
Malt-forward and straightforward. Toasted malt leads, supported by light sweetness and a soft bready character. Hop presence is subtle, offering faint citrus, floral notes, and a touch of grass. Clean overall, with a pleasantly noticeable grainy/bready quality that stands out given the lower ABV.
Flavor:
Balanced and easy-drinking. The malt backbone is firm without being heavy—light toast, gentle sweetness, and a grainy character up front. Hops remain delicate but present, contributing light citrus, floral notes, and a mild herbal quality (bay leaf, fresh grass). A faint yeast character adds a touch of complexity without distracting from the clean profile.
Mouthfeel:
Light-bodied with a crisp, clean finish. Medium carbonation lifts the beer and helps showcase the subtle hop character. Refreshing and highly drinkable.
Overall Impression:
This is an easy win. It drinks like an upgraded lawnmower or camping beer—simple, clean, but with just enough character to keep it interesting. It leans a bit more malt-forward than I typically expect for a blonde, but it works and doesn’t detract from the experience at all.
A great way to wrap up the lineup and a solid introduction to what SeaQuake can do beyond IPAs.

On tap at the brewery's gastropub in Crescent City, California.
This blonde ale is relatively full bodied for the style. Excellent balance, perhaps leaning towards the malty side of blondes.
