Eskimo Joe is a smooth pale ale infused with cold-pressed coffee and hint of vanilla. Using cold press techniques ensures a full coffee experience without the bitterness of espresso. Enjoy cold, with or without a polar bear.

440 ml can, from the brewery webshop. ABV is 5.0%. Slightly hazy deep golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of mild coffee and vanilla. Flavour of dominant vanilla, also notes of malts and mild coffee, a slight fruitiness, some caramel. Low bitterness. Pleasant to drink.

440ml Can from brewery website (£2.85):
A light & clear copper amber with a foamy, off-white head just under 1cm tall with nice retention. The nose is initially floral with some earthy hops coming through but this is soon overtaken by a coffee bitterness & some pale malts; there's some faint lactose & vanilla at the end too. The taste opens with a milky stout taste that has some sugars & vanilla sweetness, the hops & floral flavours are still there but seem a lot lighter now with some pale malts seeing things out. Definitely an unusual tasting beer but one that grew on me, it was well-carbonated & the balance wasn't too bad either; it was edging closer to a milk stout than a APA at points but it worked well & I enjoyed it.

An APA brewed with cold-pressed coffee and vanilla. A cloudy brown appearance with small head. The coffee element reminds me of a frappuccino; not intense like with a coffee stout. The vanilla lends some welcome sweetness. Mouthfeel is so-so. Didn't really float my boat but glad to have tried it.
Cheers!
