Dirty Sanchez is a smoked porter with notes of chocolate and wood smoke. Then we add a sombrero-full of chipotle chili. Smooth and warming, then kaboom! – a hard-ass chili kick.

440 ml can, from the brewery webshop. ABV is 6.5%. Black colour, moderate and creamy tan head. Aroma of roast and smoked malts, coffee, dark chocolate and chipotle chili. The flavour is not too sweet, nor too dry, and has the same elements as the aroma. Very moderate hops, a moderate but nice chili burn in the aftertaste.

440ml can from brewery webiste (£3.10):
Opaque black with a 1cm, foamy head that's a tan colour, looks thick & holds pretty well too. The nose opens with dark malts, some lactose & a fairly strong vanilla sweetness; some faint oak & smoked notes feature at the end along with a tiny bit of spice. The spice is a lot more upfront with the taste, it's very spicy but falls just short of overpowering. It's again sweet from the lactose & milky flavours with a bit of the vanilla too but the spices from the chipotle chillies definitely linger. It has a smooth, medium body & it's obviously very spicy & warming with soft carbonation too.

A 330ml bottle with a BB of Aug 2017, so it's a bit out of date. I'm hoping the style can stand a bit of aging. Purchased a while back from the Brewdog webshop. The label describes it as a smoked porter with chipotles added during the brewing process.
A: Poured into a tulip. Bottle conditioned. A very dark brown colour that appears pitch black in the glass. Produces a large head of frothy light brown foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding to a patchy surface layer.
S: Aroma of rich roasted malt with hints of burnt grain, molasses, coffee, dark chocolate, subtle smoke, fruitiness, ale yeast and a vague leafiness. Pretty good.
T: Tastes of dark malt with notes of roasted grain, molasses, fruitiness, chillies, chocolate, subtle coffee, smokiness and ale yeast. Slightly sweet, and possesses an understated bitterness. A considerable spicy heat follows upon swallowing and builds as time progresses.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and seriously spicy, with prickly carbonation and a substantial whack of chilli heat. Body is OK but not overly thick for the strength. Aftertaste of chilli heat, roasted malt, smokiness, fruitiness and ale yeast.
O: A decent chilli porter, though the heat does weigh a little heavy on this beer's character. Looks alright, while the aroma and flavour are a solid blend of dark malt, fruitiness, smoke and chillies. Body is OK. Drinkable but a tad too hot to be enjoyable. Worth trying, though I won't personally be returning to this one.

Bottle pour into 2/3 pint glass.
Porter with addition of chipotle.
Looks good; a nice dense stout appearance.
Smells of chocolate and coffee with a whiff of woodsmoke. Tastes like a decent stout with an aftertaste of smoky chilli; this is not particularly overpowering but one bottle was enough for me. Glad to have tried this but won't rush back for another.
Cheers!
