Collaboration with Brew York
When deciding on what beer to make with the amazing guys from Brew York, it really was an easy decision. Taking our multi-award winning Very Big Moose, and using their expertise in the use of Tonka beans has produced something super special. A robust stout with a velvety mouthfeel, cacao notes and – wham!

330ml Can from Good Spirits Co. Wine & Beer (£5.60):
Very strong & quite an interesting beer that was unusual tasting with some pleasant almonds & figs coming through; it reminded me of amaretto at times & it was definitely quite a boozy drink with a warming finish. The balance of the beer was a good one with vanilla & caramel sweetness working well alongside the earthy bitterness which made it surprisingly easy to drink for such a strong beer; I'm already looking forward to trying the original now.

An unusual beer. Dark, with a small head that quickly disappears. There were a lot of solids in the beer (perhaps pieces of tonka bean) some of which settled but some of which remained suspended in the beer, which I found off-putting. Taste was a pleasant surprise - I haven't tried tonka bean before, but it's a bit like vanilla. I wouldn't get it again, but don't regret trying it.
