This version of our award winning Very Big Moose has been aged in Bourbon Barrels. The American oak brings big vannillin flavours to what is already a flavour packed beer. Drinks well chilled or at room temp, but please store chilled.

Copenhagen 18/10 2020. 44 cl can from Best of Beers web-shop. Black can with Fierce’s cool angry hop flower logo and the basic information about the beer in green.

Pours opaque dark brown with a small beige head. Settles as thin remnants of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.

Aroma is intense with a strong sweet odor mingling with boozy, liquor. Brown sugar, coconut, vanilla. A strong whiff of sweet, boozy, Bourbon.

Light carbonation. Fairly thick, soft, smooth, creamy yet lightly tingling texture.

Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a light bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and laced in Bourbon. Lingering. Finish is sugary and boozy.

The Very Big Mose suffers no harm when taking a nap in a Bourbon Barrel.

440 ml can, edition 28.1, from the brewery webshop. ABV is 12.5%. Pitch black colour, moderate to small brown head. Distinct and boozy aroma of roast malts, bourbon whiskey, oak, vanillin / vanilla, cocoa / chocolate, coconut and cinnamon. Moderate carbonation. Medium sweet flavour with the same elements as the aroma. Low bitterness, a bit more would be a good idea. Warming throatfeel.

440ml Can from brewery website (£7):
Jet black & opaque with a thin, beige lacing that's foamy, thinning a little on top then turning patchy soon after. The nose is dark with lots of vanilla sweetness, a little chocolate further on with faint coffee to finish but the balance is great. The taste opens with more vanilla, chocolate & a little of the bourbon too, giving the beer a warming feel around the middle with caramel. Malts following on as well. It's easy going & silky smooth with hints of coconut as well. It's really well balanced with a full body & soft carbonation too.
