I tried this on tap at the tasting room, served chilled in a tumber.
the color is dark medium brown sort of creamy appearance with frothy cream head, lace sticks. the smell is as advertised a mild coffee roastiness with slight sweet vanilla-like aroma. The feel is good as it balances the bitterness of the espresso with some caramel in the malt and mild sweetness yet the roast is not too intense with medium carbonation and semi-dry finish.
The taste has a chocolate malt quality up front with perhaps a mild caramel sweetness and subtle earthen coffee flavor with a nuttiness and hint of spice the flavor gets smoother as it warms with creaminess and sweetness in the vanilla with a nice balanced finish. This is a tasty coffee porter, it might use a little more coffee in the taste but I am a coffee fan so take it with a grain of salt. This is a very good porter -recommended.
