Pours not quite clear straw yellow, slight bit of haze to it. Big malt on the nose, more cereal grain than bread, which I've come to expect from New World imitations of German styles, but it smells nice all the same. More of that big cereal grain malt in the flavour, but not rough or off-putting as it often is. It's fine, it works. Not as light doughy as the German stuff, but still decently light and smooth. There's a bit of tangy yeast as well, and a faint hint of earthy hops on the back end, all of which fades quickly, typical of the refreshment-oriented Kölsch style. Overall a very drinkable, flavourful beer, and close enough to the Old World style it's named for that I ain't complainin.

Bought directly from the brewery in Turner Valley.
Looks lovely after the pour, a slightly hazy golden colour with ample bright white head and solid lacing.
Aroma hits it on the nose with some spicy hopping, slight lemon and a very appetizing clean malt smell. A bit of apricot and early-grey tea wafts from the beer as it warms a bit. A certain hard-to-define aroma that good kölsch beers all seem to have, a bit of yeasty tang. A really balanced profile over all.
Noticed the extremely smooth carbonation right away. Excellent mouthfeel. Following up on the aroma with some citrus and earl grey tea, along with a decent kick of drying hops as an aftertaste, dry enough without being overpowered. The taste delivers well with a bit of a doughy yeastiness, and the beer leaves me with an impression of a pils combined with a hefe, in some ways.
Glad I tried this, nice to have a local kölsch!

Poured from a can at fridge temp. Pours a golden yellow with white head. Lots of lacing. Nose is apple, wheat, lemon, pears, and grass. Really interesting. The taste is fantastic. Sweet candy, apple, pear, a bit of maple, and vanilla. Just so smooth and nicely integrated. Mouthfeel is fairly light. Overall, a phenomenal beer.
