Got this from the Duvel guy in Utrecht
From a can into a snifter
Hops: Citra and Azacca
APPEARANCE: Pours out hazy and yields a one finger, medium looking, fluffy white head with great retention. Hazy gamboge orange in color with some carbonation evident. Head recedes to a full, foamy cap. Half wisp remains leaving touches of lacing down the glass.
SMELL: Plenty of caramel malts, honeydew melon, some cantaloupe, hints of orange citrus and lemon aromas on the nose. Medium strength.
TASTE: Caramel, melon and some piney flavors up front. Hints of lemon citrus as well. Some alcohol at the swallow, then a medium finish of caramel malts, honey, melon flavors, cantaloupe, some piney notes and a touch of citrus linger on the palate. A bit of alcohol too.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Creamy on the palate, goes down fine with a bit of a scratch and finishes a touch mouth-coating. A touch of heat.
OVERALL: This is alright. I wouldn’t quite call it the juicy IPA that this style is so well known for, but it’s still decent on its own. It actually reminds me of some of the Ontario NEIPAs that have been released the past couple years. Not bad, but a little malt forward and not quite as juicy as hoped.
