16oz can at Pastime Bar in Leadville. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and toffee. Rich coffee taste with chocolate and toffee.

Can shared at Mike's thanks for the opportunity!
Dark brown bordering on black with a thin tan head.
Rich caramel and roasty maltiness with a solid hit of citrus and pine to counter.
I though black ipa's were dead, I guess not.

Had it from tap into a shaker pint glass.
Dark brown color with an excellent head and lacing. Dart toast and chocolate smell and taste. Nice dark chocolate notes and substantial feel give the beer a porter feel and taste. Enjoyed it.

No dating on the can, first one from this brewery that's happened. Big tan head of foam sitting on black liquid, no hints of other colours even when held up to the light. The smell is very much of roasted malt, dark chocolate bitterness, lightly sweet that I am also guessing comes from the chocolate malt. Taste is of roasted malt, chocolate that has a sweet side, some bitterness that to me, reflects dark chocolate and a light coffee roast. Fairly light bodied with ample carbonation. A good Schwartz beer.
Kudos to Wasatch for sending this my way!

Black Forest cake, roasted barley, dark malt sweetness, carafa, specialty chocolate malt, cola notes.
Generally well-balanced.

2018.01.04 2nd impression from another 16 fl oz pull-tab can:
Predictably, it pours an opaque black body with a khaki head atop. ~4 minute head retention. Head is somewhat creamy and somewhat frothy.
Aroma is of dark malts, though I do get a hint of herb from the mint family. Stale black patent malt. Needs roasted barley and some kind of hop profile (piney would be ideal).
Taste is better than the aroma indicates. Balanced notes of dark/black and chocolate specialty malt sweetness, hints of roast, creaminess, and a scintilla of earthiness intermingle to generally good effect, though the beer is shallow and simplistic for the style.
Texture is smooth, wet, creamy, medium-bodied, well-carbonated, and unrefreshing. Not oily, gushed, hot, boozy, astringent, harsh, rough, or scratchy.
Overall, it's a competent but underwhelming black lager that will please casual drinkers but will fail to dazzle the discerning drinker. It's certainly easy to drink and its 16 fl oz format cans are actually justified thereby, which is a refreshing change from many beers on the market. Not terrific work, but there are no off-flavours or faults and it ticks the boxes of the intended style's conventions without ornamentation. I wouldn't buy a sixer myself, but I'm glad I got to try it.

Can dated 3/31:
Pours black or darn near it. The beige to tan cap is initially a finger or more and falls to a solid thin cap.
Nose is a chocolatey roasted malt with a hint of bitterness. The yeast and hop combination brings a little floral aspect - maybe a generic fruit blossom note. The main scent is the dark malts, but it seems lifted just a little from the other components.
Flavor starts with a tang that borders on a light bitter-tartness. The roasted malt takes a second to join in and take over the taste. The feel isn't quite as light or smooth as I'd expect from a lager, with a roasted coffee bitterness and slightly tinny flavor being more aggressive than I'd like. The pseudo-fruit note from the nose glances off my palate in the end.
A little more bold and not as cohesive and soft in feel as other Schwarzbiers I really enjoy. The can does indicate boldness, and there is a bit of bitterness here from malt and hops.

Acquired via trade from Wasatch so a big “Thank You” goes out to him. Poured from a 16oz can into a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a deep black color with a medium beige head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains coffee, chocolate, lager yeast, roasted malts and a touch of hops.
T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of coffee and chocolate. Then some breadiness comes in from lager yeast and a hearty but not too heavy roasted malt character. There are some background flavors of smoke and licorice. The hops presence is mild but complementary and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly sweet.
M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, mild kick, good representation of style, this is a very solid beer to drink for a while if you’re in the mood for the style.

Nice-looking beer. Nearly opaque deep dark brown color with a thick and long-lasting tan head. The aroma was somewhat muted as expected, but I sensed dry, roasted malt, some coffee, and a hint of plum. Very clean tasting, which makes sense given that it's a lager. Bold roast which was sufficiently bitter to be balanced but not overshadowing of the nice chocolatey notes and some cherry/plum on the end. Medium-bodied and very easy-drinking. Thanks to @Wasatch for this one!

Pours dark brown with a medium sized creme colored head. Head retention is moderate-strong with a bit of lacing bubbling around the glass. Aroma is of toasted malts, toffee, and peat moss (just a little bit Earthy). Taste is simplistic with toasted malts, toffee, and a bit of peat moss/outdoorsy aftertaste. Still a good and fun brew though. Mouth feel is smooth and a bit slimy. It has a medium consistency. Overall, a very fun beer. The look certainly opens memories of stouts, but it tastes more along the lines of a lager or amber. Very nicely done.
