2023/02/18 draught pour at the brewery taproom in Richmond, New Zealand. 1/6th of a $30 NZD tasting tray.
Targets the same narrow range of flavour as many forgettable IPAs in New Zealand, Australia, North America, and parts of Western Europe, hitting on tired citrus and marmalade flavours with vague floral and fruity notes.
Done before (and better), mediocre, uninspired, and not reflective of the potential of New Zealand hops. Just wastes its chosen hop varietals on boring middle of the road mediocrity.
Drinkable, but isn't it fucking disappointing that a brewery located in the best hop region in the Southern hemisphere is putting out *this*?
