Pineapple intially, caramel. Toasty, malty notes. Flattish aftertaste.

Okay so a mid-strength by Balter. Wasn't 100% on style, as neither the can nor the website really give it away, but I think Pale Mild is a safe bet, even if it's a touch hoppier than might be traditional. Best before the 28/03/2019 Poured into a tulip glass.
Look: a real coppery gold colour. About an inch of head, which quickly settles to a film around the edge. The bubbles themselves look to have a very champagne like quality, tight little bubbles quickly rising through the beer. Looks good.
Smell: Sweet and malty straight up. A little honey, and biscuit character. Not much else, maybe the barest whiff of a generic hoppiness towards the end.
Taste: Similar the smell, but everything is a bit more reserved. Again, malt forward, a touch of hop towards the end. All very nondescript but pleasant enough.
Body: a bit watery, particularly towards the end. A nice tingle of carbonation, slight bitterness on the back of the tongue. Not much length.
Overall: Not a bad effort for something on the lower end of the alcohol spectrum. I would definitely take a few to an event if I knew I had to drive. One of the better mid-strengths around.
