L: Had this beer on-tap at Growlers to Go - Short Pump, poured into a pint glass. Had a dark brown / black color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a quarter inch of creamy, tan-colored, fairly long-lasting head. Below average lacing.
S: A decent aroma of coffee, roasted malt, chocolate, and vanilla.
T: Tasted of a fair amount of roasted malt (present throughout), a hint of vanilla (just a touch), a fair shot of coffee (the dominant ingredient), light hops (in the finish), and a bit of chocolate as well. A solid, focused, and well-balanced flavor. It doesn't overpower the palate with coffee, but definitely gives you what you need.
F: A so-so amount of carbonation with a super smooth finish. Medium-bodied.
O: In general, a likable and easy to drink stout. Worth a look.

Tap: thin head/ring atop black body; nose of bold chocolate brownie with dark roast coffee beans; chocolate/coffee taste not as bold as nose, with a slight mineral astringency; little watery, light feel even for a regular stout.

COD 10/25/18. Pours black as a starless night. Outstanding head volume. Very poor lacing and retention.
The nose is outstanding and rich in sweet chocolate. Medium intensity notes of light roast coffee and rich vanilla are present. Very little roast and no char are observed. The overall impression is more like a milk stout than a typical coffee stout due to the sweetness of the base.
Medium body that is smooth and becomes slightly creamy in the finish. The carbonation / body balance is outstanding. Mid-palate effervescence is just enough to tingle and not overpower the viscosity. The finish just hits prickly thus allowing the creamy texture.
The flavor profile is very good. Coffee is more pronounced than in the nose and dwarfs the sweet chocolate notes that dominated the nose. The chocolate also takes on a more bitter baker's chocolate aspect, especially towards the finish. As the chocolate fades, light vanilla presents along with light roast and char. The finish is a slow fade with coffee and roast lingering.
