Received as an extra in a trade. Originally planned on sharing this with JLindros by the Covid-19 quarantine put an end to that. Canned on 3/4/20.
A - Poured into my Duvel tulip a nice hazy golden hue with a thick two finger dense white head that faded slowly to leave creamy lacing and a nice blanket.
S - Aromas of little bit of zesty citrus, almost stone fruit like but not quite. Flashes of tropical as well along with almost musty passion fruit. Little bit of cereal grain but overall the hops were rather muted.
T - Taste is similar to the nose with nice almost spritzy citrus. Big slightly sweet tropical and stone fruit notes along with bright passion fruit. As it warms it almost has a tropical bubblegum like flavour as well. The finish has a brief, sharp bitterness to it with lingering pineapple sweetness as it warms on the finish as well. Solid, bright, hops throughout. There is a solid malt and grain backbone here but the fruity elements of the hops bounce back and forth between fresh fruit and slightly sweet almost jam like. This is absolutely delicious and about as close to a 4.75 as possible.
M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, crisp, slightly creamy on the finish. No discernible alcohol.
O - Overall this was a VERY enjoyable DIPA. Great appearance and taste just wish the nose popped as it comes across as muted, even more noticeably when compared to how great it tastes. Would love to have this again.
