Canned 02/07/20. Poured at 56 degrees. Black with grey/cola edges; tight dark tan head; poor cap retention; thin ring; minimal lacing; medium legs. Strong roast peanut nose; some cocoa as liquid warms. Chocolate, milk chocolate, Nestle’s Quik, lactose; peanut butter; sweet caramel malt base. Slick, smooth, oily, liquid peanut buttery feel; heavy minus full body; light carbonation; no warmth from 11% abv. Overall, this stout has a pleasing peanut butter flavor; not quite a Reese’s PB Cup, but plenty enough chocolate to keep up; amazingly, no alcohol in nose or on palate; better than most PB stouts I’ve had, no artificial or adjuncty tastes or feel; a quality offering from an outstanding brewery - CTF; I’d gladly drink again.
