Picked this up recently at The Bottle King in Wayne, as I never saw anything from Was Ashore, let alone had any of their offerings. While I wouldn't quite call this a lawnmower beer, this could fit that style as it was ideal for a lazy summer day even though this wasn't quite as light or mindless as a macro lager. Indeed, this was true for stylistic form without having any outstanding or particularly noteworthy traits to it.
Translucent and golden in hue, this poured like a typical Kolsch as it had enough head to top it off. Only some scattered splotches remained in the lacing once the suds subsided. Lots of grape, grass and Calypso Hops in the nose as that was true in the taste as well. Herbal, floral, and a bit dry, this had plenty of body but not a lot of carbonation to it, as it was a bit heavier and more sour than I would have liked. Some Noble Hops stood out but I still felt like I needed a chaser of water to fully get this down in the end.
Not a lot of alcohol here as it would have been easy to down another can, although I think one of these would be enough for a session. Nothing was written on the bottom of the can as it would have been nice to know how old this was. Sure, the label design was fine but the liquid left a bit to be desired. This would be fine for a summer afternoon or a trip to the beach but it left me wishing that this was more than a lawnmower beer. Enjoy it once, but certainly not twice...

Drank out if the can at a bar, really enjoyed it, drank another. Would like to drink again. Pretty light and refreshing while being flavorful.
