12 oz. can. Clear deep amber body. Smells of herbal hops, bready deep caramel malt. Tastes much the same. Bread and toffee. Herbal hops. Caramel with no sweetness. Medium heavy. Very tasty and an excellent doppelbock.

Color is a bit light on this one, but the taste is great. A bit less sweetness than the leading Doppelbock and a bit less syrupy body. It is fresh, flavorful, and clean. Worthy of the score IMHO.

12oz can. Poured out a dark brown color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of roasted malt, sweet caramel and toffee. Smooth taste with sweet caramel and toffee. Light bitterness.

12oz. can into a BBT snifter.
Color is a clear dark mahogany. 0.5 finger cream colored head. Stringy lace. Nice stick. Nose is brown sugar, caramel, and purple grape. Rather subtle. Beer opens grape gummy, tea leaves, and brown sugar. The grape gummy flavor just continues to amplify as this one warms. Some syrup, cane sugar, and bark on the second sip. Hints of fresh plum too. Surprisingly dark fruit forward. Body is light with ample carbonation. Prickly and lively on the palate and goes down aggressive. Crisp, clean aftertaste. So drinkable!
Really nice flavor profile and super drinkable for the ABVs.

Dark, reddish copper body, clear; excellent carbonation; thick, off-white head, dense and creamy. Fine combination of roasted grain and rich toffee aromas. Sweet flavor; dried plums and raisins; caramel; mild booziness. Heavy body; thick and chewy; dense residual sugar presence; mild warmth.
Big, sweet and boozy, that's this beer.

No date on the can.
Pours a deep amber red with a small head of foam..
It smells malty, fruity, bready but they are all on the light side.
The taste is more assertive. Nice bread, some caramel, light hints of fruit. Bits of grain. Good.
Good mouthfeel.
Overall, I would say that it's a decent stab at the style. Doesn't quite make it to something special.
