From a growler via Jungle Jim's Eastgate in a snifter. This nice little Belgian quad
pours a reddish tinged brown color with a modest head of white foam that subsides to
a thin ring and thin subtle pool with light lacing. Nose of sweet figs, brown sugars, strong
cherry and apricot with moderate breaded banana notes. Flavors follow the nose with subtle
banana and medium strong cherry notes tossed into brown sugars and date bread with medium
strong booze mingling with a touch of dried apricot. Excellent mouth feel; warm, lightly slick,
low carbonation, and finishing lightly dry and boozy.
A solid little ale that vastly improves with warmth showcasing more depth than the
cold version shows which is more of a boozy dance of flavor. Let it warm and be rewarded.
Cheers

Aroma is somewhat subtle, with hints of raisins and dates, deep caramel malt.
Flavor is very sweet, with a woody undertone and highlights of dates and figs. The finish is dry. Pretty boozy, but...
