Thoroughly enjoyed from the growler via Jungle Jim's Eastgate who should be thanked
for bringing nice local brews to this area. This porter pours a deep murky blackish brown
with a moderate head of off white to tan foam that subsides to a thick ring, subtle spotty
pool, and shows light spotty lacing. Nose of rich coffee, subtle char, cocoa, earthy malts,
and light brown sugar notes. Flavors nail the perfect notes for the style; rich dark roasted
coffee and mild char notes blend with toffee and subtle cola notes that fade to a brulee
flavor that has a light and subtle herbal hop note on the rear. Excellent mouth feel; medium
full mouth feel, medium carbonation, and a deeply roasted malt aftertaste lingering with
coffee and cocoa.
Overall, this is one fine porter that is a stout drinkers dream!
Cheers
