From the growler via the brewery in a Teku snifter emblazoned with the Woodburn logo.
This fine ale poured into the glass looks stunning with a moderately dark reddish mahogany with a
nice head of off white foam that settles to a thin ring and shallow pool with subtle lacing. Nose of
stone fruits, raisins, figs, cherries, warming booze, and sweet brown sugars. Flavors nail it with cherry
and candied figs dashed with moderately spicy pine hop notes and given a heavy hand of brown sugars.
Subtle notes of peaches roll into the taste on the rear with warming booze as the ale breathes also showing
a touch of earthiness. Excellent mouth feel for the style----medium full body, medium light lively carbonation
that sears in the warming booze, and a sweet spicy hopped warming finish.
Overall, the best barleywine I have had this year and THAT is saying something.
Cheers

I do not profess to be a barleywine aficionado but I really enoyed this. The Woodburn glassware was awesome. It had an amber color with zero head and a little lacing around the rim. A nice sweet taste with a wine feel. Woodburn is a great space too.
