From the growler via Jungle Jim's Eastgate in a snifter. This nice stout pours
a rich brownish black with subtle cola highlights and a nice head of khaki foam
that settles to a thick ring, thin light pool, and shows some nice lacing. Nose of
coffee (it is French pressed by the description), light char, earthy malts, and a
light hint of cream mingling in with the dark malts and subtle cocoa. Flavors follow
the nose without disappointment with nice cold pressed rich coffee and a hint of
cream that mingle nicely with an earthy malt flavor that is rich and pleasingly enveloped
in cocoa nibs. Nice mouth feel in an English style; light carbonation, medium full body,
and a lightly coating coffee and chocolate finish.
Excellent and balanced milk stout. Let this one warm a touch and be rewarded.
Another great brew from Cincinnati's best brewery IMHO.
Cheers
