Purchased from Chas Cole Cellarbrations in May 2025 and drunk a few days later.

L: The beer in the glass is a thick, hazy amber, like the IPAs of yore. A thin ring of bright-white head sits around the edge of the glass. There are no bubbles to be seen. It's not as pretty as a modern IPA, but I can sense some old skool westyness coming my way...

S: Big, rich, caramel notes, with a clean waft of peach, orange and lime at the end. This smells great!

T: OMFG this is what I miss in an IPA! A big, chewy malt body works perfectly with the stonefruit and citrus notes that crash over the top of it. The strong, citric bitterness lingers long at the back and sides of the tongue after the swallow and retronasal, malty grapefruit peel finishes everything off. I could drink this all day, although I'd be on my ear after two of the large-format bottles it's sold in!

M: Chewy. That word sums the beer's body up. It's thick, unctuous, oily - in a good way - and coats thy tongue like an IPA should. Carbonation is medium and works well with the big malt body and assertive bitterness.

O: This is a beer time machine. Although the hops are presenting flavours that weren't around 10-15 years ago, the idea of a big malt body and assertively bittered flavour profile has largely gone the way of the dinosaur, and it's so good to come across an IPA that isn't afraid to challenge the drinker with a big, bitter, hoppy profile. More please!

Cheers!
