Purchased at Chas Cole Cellarbrations in Geelong in May 2025 and drunk in August that year.
L: Golden straw coloured, crystal clear and topped by a mountainous, bubbly head. Lots of carbonation in the glass.
S: Fresh, tropical fruits; creamy honeydew and rockmelon. Strawberries and cream, and thick honey.
T: Wow, such a distinctive taste! For me, the main note is honeydew, which makes no sense if they've used Galaxy and Cascade hops as per the blurb on the bottle, but I assume it's the honey interacting with the passionfruit and citrus from those hops that gives it its distinct taste profile. The finish is light, sweet and lingering in a sherbetty, palate cleansing way. This is really quite delicious!
M: The body is soft and full, with medium levels of carbonation and a reasonable kick on the swallow. The harshness of the carbonation counters the sweetness of the taste.
O: Really, really like this. It's bottle conditioned, and I guarantee I'll pour in the sediment at the end to give me a little more to drink!
Cheers!
