Great Bay Pale is our limited release Summer pale. It's named for the beach across from our Bruny Island Brewery where it was made. This is a slightly hazy ale with minimal smooth bitterness and a solid galaxy hop aroma and flavour. The result is bursting with tropical fruit aromas, perfect for sitting on the shore of Great Bay, or any other beautiful beach, on a warm summer arvo.

Purchased at Chas Cole Cellarbrations in Geelong in May 2025 and drunk in August that year.
L: Crystal clear, dark golden yellow with an initially mountainous, frothy head, that settled to a couple of cm high, loosely bubbled frothiness. Lots, and I mean lots, of carbomation swirls around on the way up the glass.
S: The nose is nectarine and peach, with a little bit of tropical citrus thrown in.
T: The taste profile is much thinner than expected. The nectarine notes are definitely there, but they're thin and a little watery. The beer finishes with a sweet, tropical note, but like the rest of the taste profile, it's washed away by the overall thinness of everything.
M: The body of the beer comes through, not unsurprisingly, as thin and a little watery. Carbonation is medium, but there's quite a carbonic kick on the swallow.
O: Unfortunately, this is a miss. It's thin and watery, and in the end, that totally overwhelms the tropical/nectarine notes that are in there.
Cheers!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
