Colour dark brown, almost black, with delicate chestnut highlights. Beige foam, made up of small bubbles is characterised by a long reduction time, irregularly coating the glass.
Aroma strong, intense and sweet. There is plenty of cocoa, there is liquorice, sweet roasted caramel, cinnamon and a specific peat smell (Laphroig). In the background there are notes of dark chocolate and coffee roastiness. The aroma is complex and multidimensional.
The taste is generally bitter with a slight, light acidity on the finish. The bitterness has a roasted, peaty, caramel character and is long, medium high.
Saturation low upwards. Texture pleasantly smooth. Body full, high. Aftertaste long bitter, roasted, peaty.
