Copenhagen 13/7 2019. 50 cl bottle from Ninkasira Bottleshop, Kbh N. Drawing of Voodoo lady face-painted with a Skull and clad in bark and with a Crow on her shoulder on the label.
Pours opaque, dark brown with big, light beige head. Settles as thin layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is sweetish, roasted and citric. Brown sugar, roasted, dark malts, caramel, wood. Medium strong notes of Grape fruit, Citrus and Lime.
Medium strong carbonation. Medium thick, soft, slightly viscous, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium sweet followed by a stronger citric bitterness. Aftertaste is richly bitter sweet. The sweetness coming out on top. Lingers for a while.
Fine Black IPA balancing the citric bitterness and the roasted sweetness well. I miss a little of the Cedar Aging that they advertise on the label.
