Malai Kitchen is a fantastic southeast asian restaurant that happens to brew its own beer. My two favorite culinary things in one spot! Wow! But seriously, this is a great restaurant that my and my lovely bride have become regulars at. I have sampled a considerable percentage of the menu at this point and have never been disappointed. Any kind of Thai curry, check. Pad Thai, check. Fish creatively prepared with typical southeast asian ingredients, check.
Their core beers consist of a Vietnamese rice lager, another light lager, peach tea wheat beer (very flavorful), porter with chilis, and an IPA infused with Thai herbs and spices. They're all solid, but but the fun part is the rotating beer which they have fun with. I've seen many IPAs (including a sour IPA), but also a blonde Thai iced tea stout, and a Tripel. I only give the selection category the lowest of my grades because they only offer their house beer and this is a beer website after all. The service is top notch, and oh yeah, the happy hour is killer for drinks and appetizers.
