Yellow hazy color with a much lighter taste than expected for a DIPA. Doesn’t have a strong flavor but finishes with an aftertaste kick. Not bitter but kind of strange fizzle.

No date on the can and new label - fewer clouds and less purple than pictured above.
Pretty pour - bright, deep gold with a dense, frothy white head. Unfiltered and hazy but still translucent, not muddy with suspended starch and flocculated flotsam.
The aroma is a welcome caramel malt and cracked grains in the steep balance by herbal, fruity hop notes.
New(ish) hops Mosaic and Enigma blend well with traditional Hallertau and the raw and cooked grain in a wonderfully NON citrus nose.
Flavor is complex and lush - rich caramelized grain and more raw, cracked barley character up front, fruity notes of berries and cherries all in terrific balance and cohesion.
Mouthfeel is a bit thin but highly drinkable, concealing the 8.5% abv nicely even on the finish where some grapefruit notes well up in the hoppy aftertaste.
This is a different beer than older examples described by others here and not just the extra 0.7% abv.
Excellent example of a 2XIPA with balls and malt character throughout and none of the juicy training wheels of a NE style carbonated screwdriver so ubiquitous these days.
Well Done.

Poured from a pint can into a pint glass. One fingered head with minimal lacing. Body of the beer is mild yellow in tone, translucent in tone. Lots of citrusy fruit on the nose. First sip has a grapefruit and apricot tang, followed by a decent amount of hops bitterness for the desired palate cleansing.
